Support Organisations

The following organisations all have a level of Hague Convention expertise: some are survivor-led, some voluntary, some established charities. Other than Reunite, all have experience of working with victim-survivors. If there are other Hague-aware organisations or groups that you recommend, please let us know the details so that we can add them to the list.

UK & International

GlobalARRK

An international charity dedicated to supporting ‘stuck’ parents who are unable to return to their home country with their children after a relationship has ended or seriously deteriorated. They offer information, professional contacts, and a peer-support network.

Reunite

Reunite International Child Abduction Centre is a UK-based charity specialising in international parental child abduction. They provide advice and support on issues surrounding the international movement of children.

FiLiA Hague Mothers

A voluntary international campaign aiming to end the injustices caused by the Convention, specifically in relation to mothers fleeing domestic violence and coercive control. We provide advice, training, and advocacy.

Europe

GAMBE

(Europe / Brazil / Canada) A network that promotes gender equality, and works to prevent and counter violence against migrant women abroad.

Revibra Europa

(Europe / Brazil) Offering legal and psychological support to migrant women in Europe facing domestic violence or in need of legal assistance.

Klaipeda’s Social & Psychological Support Center

An NGO based in Lithuania. They offer psychosocial and legal support to victims of domestic and institutional violence, providing direct help and advocacy at national & international level.

USA

Sanctuary for Families / Narkis Golan Initiative

This initiative focuses on increasing access to justice for survivors of gender-based violence involved in Hague Convention court proceedings in the USA. They offer training, resources, technical assistance, and advocate for improved implementation of the Convention.

Texas RioGrande Legal Aid

TRLA provides legal services to low-income individuals in Texas. Their mission is to ensure justice by offering high-quality legal representation and empowering communities through education and advocacy.

Hague Collective USA

Survivor-led, the Hague Collective works to raise awareness of the 1980 Hague Convention on child abduction through research, education, and advocacy.

Australia

Women's Legal Services Australia

A national network of women’s legal services advocating for a legal system that is safe, supportive, non-discriminatory, and responsive to the needs of women.

Her Hague Story

Her Hague Story is dedicated to advocating for legislative changes to protect mothers and children from abuse related to the implementation of the Hague Convention.

New Zealand

New Zealand Hague Collective

A survivor-led charity, committed to advocacy, social policy and legislative change. They offer support and advice to help parents and their children to remain safe from harm whilst they await the resolution of their case.

Backbone Collective

A New Zealand-based coalition of survivors of violence against women. They collect and amplify survivors’ voices to inform and encourage authorities to improve systems responding to abuse.
