Duluth Wheel and One-pager

We are incredibly proud to share that the Hague Mothers Duluth Wheel is now complete! This tool was co-created by FiLiA Hague Mothers, in collaboration with survivor mothers and professionals from around the world. Through powerful conversations, and shared lived experiences we developed a resource that captures the systemic forms of abuse experienced through the Hague Abduction Convention. The Wheel builds on the original Duluth Power and Control model and reframes it to reflect institutional coercive control faced by protective mothers navigating international legal systems. Every segment is shaped by the real voices and stories of FiLiA Hague Mothers members. We also created an additional explainer to further elaborate on each segment of the Wheel, using quotes and insights from mothers. We will be integrating this tool into our training for domestic abuse professionals, and our hope is that it will become an officially recognised Duluth Wheel.

We believe it will be a valuable tool for professionals and survivors alike.
